One Scam I have encountered is the Indian Prince scam. Sounds funny but it actually happened to me. One day I received a handwritten letter addressed to me all the way from India. The letter was very long and included a bunch of nonsense about how I was related to an Indian Prince and that unfortunately passed away. Apparently that was good for me though because he left millions of dollars in a foreign bank account and in order to collect my inheritance I needed to send them my social security number right away! Don’t worry, I didn’t fall for it haha but it was definitely interesting. I think these scammers were targeting old people because the letter said something about having money to leave for my family when I’m gone too. Fortunately I am not old so I didn’t fall for it but they definitely put in a lot of effort for it to get to me!
